Hello FEO Eagle Families,

I am pleased to report that the recent Terry Fox Run was a wonderful success. We had the privilege of participating alongside Marion Carson School. This collaborative event truly embodied the spirit of Terry Fox's legacy of determination, courage, and community support.

The event was not only a tremendous success in terms of participation, but it also provided our students with valuable lessons about perseverance, giving back to the community, and working together toward a common goal. Watching our young people support one another and embrace the challenge with such positive attitudes was heartwarming.

I am also excited for the upcoming "FEO Meet the Teacher" night on September 25, 2025 at 6:00 PM. This evening will allow you to visit your child's classroom, meet their teacher, and gain insights into the curriculum, classroom expectations, and learning plans for this year. It's a wonderful chance for our school community to come together in support of our students' education.

Immediately following the "FEO Meet the Teacher" night is our first FEO School Council meeting held at the school! We invite you to stay after the meet the teacher to connect with the school community through school council!

I am proud to share that FEO will be participating in Orange Shirt Day on September 26th . This day is recognized across Canada to honor the survivors of residential schools and to remember the children who never returned home. Wearing orange is a symbol of our collective commitment to truth, reconciliation, and ensuring that every child matters. We encourage all students and staff to wear orange as we come together to learn, reflect, and support one another in building a more inclusive and compassionate community.

Please watch for a detailed schedule that will be sent home to families soon. This schedule will include specific times, classroom locations, and all the information you'll need for the evening.

I look forward to seeing you at "Meet the Teacher!"

Warm regards,
Dr. Michael Cutler | FE Osborne

SAFETY | Bicycles and Scooters

Please ensure that your child wears a properly fitted helmet every time they ride their bike or scooter, whether coming to school, going home, or riding in the community. Helmets are a simple but crucial safety measure that can prevent serious head injuries and help keep our students safe.

We appreciate your attention to this important safety practice and your partnership in keeping all our students protected. If you have any questions about helmet safety or need resources for obtaining a proper helmet, please don't hesitate to reach out to the office.

GOOGLE CLASSROOM | Weekly Updates

Beginning October 6th, teacher's weekly classroom updates will be transitioning to Google Classroom and will be delivered directly to your email inbox.

This change will allow us to provide you with more comprehensive and detailed information about your child's academic progress, including:

  • Specific insights into student work and assignments
  • Enhanced details about classroom activities and learning objectives
  • More thorough updates on your child's academic development

You will continue to receive these communications weekly via email, but they will now originate from Google Classroom, giving us the ability to share richer content and more meaningful updates about your child's educational journey.

MEET THE TEACHER | September 25 @ 6:00 PM

We’re excited to welcome families to FEO for our upcoming Meet the Teacher evening! This is a wonderful chance to follow your child’s timetable, meet their teachers, and connect with our school administration. We’ll be sharing more details soon—stay tuned!

SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETING | September 25 @ 7:30 PM

One of the most important ways parents/guardians and community members can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on the school council. Under the Education Act, a school council is a collective association designed to advise the principal and the CBE Board of Trustees on matters related to the school. School councils have legislated advisory and decision-making authority defined within the Education Act and the School Councils Regulation.

Our first school council meeting of the year will immediately follow our "Meet the Teacher" night. The council meeting will be held in-person at FEO!
