Hello FEO Eagle Families,

Week at a Glance Sept. 14-18

It has been an exciting second week back at FEO and I apologize in advance for the length of the FEO Week Ahead! There is much to share so please scroll all the way down!

It is always a highlight to welcome families into the school and the FEO Open House was no exception. Thank you to all the families who attended! Looking to the week ahead, In partnership with Branton School, I would also like to invite you to a special parent presentation by Paul Davis who will be covering online, social media and mobile device safety. I would strongly encourage you to attend. Mr. Davis will also be presenting to our Grade 7 & 8 students Tuesday morning at FEO. A special thank you to the FEO School Council for sponsoring this event.

Our Boys Soccer team plays their first match on Monday against G.P. Vanier and I wish them well at the start of their season. Our Girls Soccer team has an early morning 7:00 AM practice and their first game is on Tuesday as they play H.D. Cartwright at the FEO soccer pitch. Our cross-country team had a great outing at their first meet of the season this past Thursday. Their next meet is on Tuesday, go eagles!

In other exciting news, our eSports club kicks off this Thursday with students competing on Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers! As this club continues to grow, we look forward to competing against other schools! Choir club has already started and the FEO Strings Orchestra starts on Monday!

If you have any board games that you are no longer using and are collecting dust, please consider donating them to FEO! We are looking for board games to support our board games club and the student resource room to support literacy. Please drop off any games at the FEO main office!

On Friday, FEO will be partnering with our neighbours at Marion Carson to participate in the Terry Fox Run. If you would like to make a donation, please visit our online fundraising page or send a "Twoonie for Terry" on Friday!

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we have navigated technical difficulties with our FEO School Calendar. I am pleased to report that our IT have been working on the issues and we are back up and running again! I have included an "FEO Week at a Glance" graphic to highlight upcoming events next week just in case our Calendar falls under the weather again!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend,
-Dr. Michael Cutler

FUN LUNCH | Introductions!

Our school and the Fun Lunch Team are very excited to continue this year with the online program called Healthy Hunger!

This program has been running for the past few school years with great success. It is the only fundraiser for the school which runs throughout the year and the funds gathered are used for helping the school, students and parent council in many ways.

It also gives parents a break from making lunches by having food brought into the school.

If you are new to the school or to Fun Lunch you will have to sign-up your child at www.healthyhunger.ca.  If you have been a part of Fun Lunch before then login with your email and password.

To order lunches, add your student and select this year’s grade and homeroom teacher!

Every time a new lunch form is posted you will get a notification from the website and then reminders to order until the deadline. The first Fun Lunch is Oct 7. The order deadline is Oct 2 at midnight.

Thank you for all your support!

REMINDER | Mobile Device Policy

FEO students will not be permitted to use personal mobile devices during instructional time, unless such use is approved for health and medical needs and to support specialized learning needs.

These new rules are similar to the ‘away-for-the-day’ guidelines that many schools have been using in recent years. Students in grades K-9  will not be permitted to use personal mobile devices during the school day. Student devices brought to school must be powered off or set to silent. They should be left in lockers or better yet - simply left at home.
