Hello FEO Eagle Families,

October 19-23

I want to extend my best wishes to both our Girls and Boys soccer teams as they compete in the semi-finals this week. Regardless of the score line, it has been an exceptional season for both teams who have grown tremendously. The conclusion of the soccer season also means the start of the basketball season! Our FEO Girls basketball team will be hosting their first games of the season at FEO this coming Wednesday evening; Go Eagles!

Our Grade 7 Band students will be attending their workshop at Mount Royal University on October 20th. This is an incredible learning opportunity for these young musicians as they spend time working closely with professional musicians in a world-class facility.

This past Thursday FEO was privileged to welcome author Christy Jordan- Fenton to the school. She has written four award winning books about the experiences of her Inuvialuk mother Margaret Olemaun Pokiak-Fenton, including her experiences attending an Indian Residential School in northern Canada.A big thank you to F.E. Osborne's Parent Society for making this opportunity happenforour students.

FEO is also looking forward to the upcoming Halloween season! This is a wonderful time for creativity, imagination, and togetherness. It’s a chance to build memories, share laughter, and celebrate the spirit of fun for our learning community. As students and families begin to prepare their costumes, please see below for costume guidelines.

As we continue our planning for the 2027-2028 school year and the changes the SSAP will bring to FEO, I will be a guest at the November School Council meetings for Marion Carson and Silver Springs schools to answer questions. I would also encourage you to attend our upcoming November 4th FEO School Council meeting to hear more about the exciting opportunities at FEO!

I wish you all a wonderful week ahead, and please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions!

Warm regards,
Dr. Michael Cutler

Halloween is a fun and exciting time that students of all ages eagerly anticipate throughout the year. At F.E.O., we share in that excitement and look forward to celebrating together. As we do so, we remain committed to fostering a safe, caring, and inclusive environment for everyone.

Students who choose to wear costumes are reminded that costumes must not include weapons or masks, and should not appropriate cultures, religions, or races. All costumes must reflect respect for diversity and uphold our shared values of inclusion and kindness.
