Hello FEO Eagle Families,
I hope you are all doing well as we head into a busy and exciting first week March at FEO!
I am very pleased to officially welcome Madame Sheena Abboud McKenzie to FEO as our new Assistant Principal. This is her first week with us, and we are thrilled to have her join our school community. Please join us in welcoming her to the Eagle family!
This past Tuesday, our students had the opportunity to attend the Calgary Hitmen #BeBrave Anti-Bullying Game. This event brought together schools from across the Calgary Board of Education to learn more about anti-bullying, kindness, and well-being. It was an impactful and memorable experience for our students.
We also welcomed many of you—both in person and virtually—for our parent-teacher conferences. Thank you to all families who took the time to connect with teachers and engage in conversations about student learning and growth.
Looking ahead to this week:
- Grade 8 Band Camp: Our Grade 8 band students will be heading to Banff for their band camp experience. We know they will represent FEO well and enjoy this incredible learning opportunity.
- Grade 9 French Immersion Field Trip: Our Grade 9 French Immersion students will be attending the Paul Cournoyer concert at William Aberhart High School. We are excited for them to experience this cultural and musical event.
- Volleyball Season: Our volleyball teams continue their season this week and will wrap up with quarter-final action. We wish all our athletes the best of luck!
Thank you to all the families who completed the school designation form for next year. I recognize that this has been a challenging and emotional decision for many of our families in Sage Hill, Kincora, and Montgomery. We wish our students transitioning to T.B. Riley and Simon Fraser continued success as they move forward on their educational journey, and we are excited to welcome back the students who will remain at FEO next year.
As the month of Ramadan begins, we extend our warmest wishes to all FEO families who are observing. Ramadan is a special time for reflection, gratitude, and community, and we hope this month brings peace, joy, and meaningful moments to you and your loved ones. May this season be filled with good health, blessings, and renewed connection. Ramadan Mubarak to all who celebrate!

MEETING | School Council - March 4th at 6:30 PM

CALGARY TRANSIT | Student Expectations & Safety
There are different Calgary Transit fares and passes options and purchasing locations. Students must carry proof of fare every time they use Calgary Transit.
Calgary Transit is committed to safety and has an extensive network of security features including cameras on buses and help phones at LRT stations and platforms for assistance. There are cameras at all CTrain stations that are monitored by security staff that are in direct contact with peace officers and can dispatch them quickly or call other emergency responders. Transit peace officers are also available to quickly respond to any incidents.
Calgary Transit provides riders with three options to report safety or security concerns. In addition to the phone number (403-262-1000) and the help buttons/phones at bus and train stations, riders can now send a text to 74100 for assistance from transit staff.
