June is Pride Month and National Indigenous Peoples’ Month
As a public school system, we welcome students from diverse backgrounds, perspectives and beliefs. The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) strives to ensure that all schools are safe and caring places for students and staff, including 2SLGBTQ+ students and staff. We welcome this time for increased reflection and action on how to foster inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive.
June is also an exciting month for Indigenous ways of being, belonging, doing, and knowing. All CBE staff, students, and families are invited to participate in upcoming city-wide events. Check out the Indigenous Awareness Week Calgary website for a list of celebrations and gatherings happening throughout the week of June 14–21, including a powwow on Saturday, June 14 at the Elbow River Camp.
Provincial Achievement Tests | PATs
PATs will continue next week for our French students who will be writing their French Language Arts and Mathematics tests. Good luck students!
During and after Provincial Achievement Tests, regular classes will be happening. While learning may look different during these times with alternate activities to prepare students for their next exam and support their mental well-being, classes do continue!
