Dear FEO Eagle Families,

I am pleased to inform you that F.E. Osborne has been allocated two additional teaching positions for the 2026–27 school year through the Government of Alberta’s Class Size Reduction Grant. 

This grant funds teaching positions that support improved learning conditions in kindergarten to Grade 9 classrooms.

This funding is specifically intended to help reduce class sizes in core subject areas (English Language Arts/French Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies), with priority given to schools experiencing the greatest class size pressures.

This decision was made using system-wide data that considers:

  • The number of classes exceeding provincial class size benchmarks
  • Projected enrolment and class organization
  • School programming and grade configuration

Our goal is to ensure students benefit from:

  • Increased teacher attention
  • Improved classroom learning environments
  • Greater support for diverse learning needs

We remain committed to supporting strong learning environments for all students and using our resources thoughtfully and strategically. 

As noted in a previous update, FEO remains on the Calgary Board of Educations SSAP. Consideration is being given to potentially adjusting the Regular program. The CBE will continue to provide updates on the SSAP website.

This past week I had, along with many other teachers, the oppurtunity to attend the FEO School Council Grade 9 Farewell at Heritage Park. It was an absolutely incredible time for students to celebrate their learning journing thus far and look forward to their next steps as they continue to work towards graduation. A huge thank you to our incredible FEO School Council for organzing such a meaningful event. Congratulations Grade 9 students, we all wish you well in Grade 10!

The FEO Spring Concert was also held this past week. Ms. Therrien and Mr. Cavalleri have worked incredbly hard with these young musicians. Their care and experience was evident with the growth these young musicians demonstrated. Congratulations to all the musicians on a wonderful performance!

As we enter another week of Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs), I would like to highlight that meaningful learning continues throughout the month of June, even after PATs are completed. While some students may express a desire to leave school after finishing their exams, this remains a family decision. Please note that regular classes will continue, and our office is not able to process student requests for early dismissal following PATs.

ONLINE K-12 REPORT CARDS AVAILABLE JUNE 25, 2026

Families can view, download or print online report cards for kindergarten to Grade 12 students June 25 – July 31, 2026 through MyCBE. Within MyCBE, families can also view student information, comments from your child’s teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information. 

Please note: After July 31, 2026, report cards will no longer be available to access in MyCBE.

CLEAN UP BEFORE YOU GO! | CBE Students Move or Delete Files Before Departure

The CBE is reminding all students to save their files they wish to keep on a personal drive prior to June 26, 2026. It is especially important for students who are graduating or leaving the CBE to move all files over to personal storage because they will lose access to their CBE account after August 31, 2026, and their CBE email address and inbox will be deleted permanently.

Anyone who has applied to a post-secondary institution or scholarship with their CBE email address is encouraged to update their email contact information with the organization to which they have applied.
