Hello FEO Eagle Families,
We are off to a strong start in Semester 2! Please note that the coming week will be a short one due to the Calgary City Teachers’ Convention (CCTCA). I am also looking forward to our upcoming FEO School Council Dance on February 11. If you are able, I warmly encourage you to get involved in our school community by volunteering at this event—it is always a wonderful opportunity to connect and support our students (Volunteer signup).
Our Grade 6 students recently enjoyed an engaging learning experience at the Bow Habitat Station through the Trout‑rageous program. During the visit, students deepened their understanding of fish, aquatic ecosystems, and the important role these environments play in our natural world. The hands-on activities and expert instruction made the learning both meaningful and memorable. We extend our sincere thanks to the parent volunteers who generously gave their time to support this trip—your help was greatly appreciated!
Looking ahead, there are several important dates to keep in mind: Semester One report cards will be available on mycbe.ca beginning February 25, and Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place on February 26–27.
Have a great week ahead!
-Dr. Michael Cutler

High School Tours | CTF High School Transitions
As grade 9 tours are underway, I would encourage families to explore the High School Course Guide which includes a helpful visual outlining CTS and K&E occupational pathway course.
CALGARY TRANSIT | Student Expectations & Safety
There are different Calgary Transit fares and passes options and purchasing locations. Students must carry proof of fare every time they use Calgary Transit.
Calgary Transit is committed to safety and has an extensive network of security features including cameras on buses and help phones at LRT stations and platforms for assistance. There are cameras at all CTrain stations that are monitored by security staff that are in direct contact with peace officers and can dispatch them quickly or call other emergency responders. Transit peace officers are also available to quickly respond to any incidents.
Calgary Transit provides riders with three options to report safety or security concerns. In addition to the phone number (403-262-1000) and the help buttons/phones at bus and train stations, riders can now send a text to 74100 for assistance from transit staff.

SAGE HILL, KINCORA & MONTGOMERY | School Designation for 2026/27
As the City of Calgary continues to grow, the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) continues to prioritize keeping students closer to home, provide strong, stable learning environments that keep peers together, while working to alleviate enrolment pressures.
Sage Hill & Kincora Area
A new middle school is expected to open in Evanston, in September 2026, creating room for additional students at Simon Fraser School. This change is also expected to relieve pressure on other northwest Calgary public schools. This means, starting with the 2026-27 school year, students in Grades 6 to 9 living in Sage Hill or Kincora will be designated to Simon Fraser School.
Montgomery Area
Beginning with the 2026-27 school year, Regular program students in Grades 7 to 9 living in Montgomery will be designated to Thomas B. Riley School. This change will bring together students from the Montgomery community with their peers into the same high school and balance enrolment amongst northwest Calgary public schools.
Grade 7 and 8 students currently attending F.E. Osborne can choose to stay at FEO until finishing grade 9 or transfer to their new designated school (T.B. Riley or Simon Fraser) for the 2026/27 school. Please use the form below to confirm your decision.
School Designations decisions are DUE FEBRUARY 27, 2026
