Hello FEO Eagle Families,
I hope that you have been enjoying the warmer, sunnier weather! As we are less than three months from the conclusion of the school year, updates from FEO become increasingly more important! Please continue to monitor your inbox for upcoming information on Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs). Grade 9 Farewell and other important events to close out the year.
It is my great pleasure to invite you to this year’s FEO musical production, Yearbook Reflections—a heartfelt and uplifting production that brings our shared memories to life. Through music, dance, and storytelling, the show follows a group of students as they revisit defining moments from their school years, uncovering friendships, challenges, and the experiences that shape who they become. Opening night is May 13th!
We are seeing an increase in FEO students using their mobile devices at school. As mandated by the Province of Alberta, K-9 students are prohibited from using their devices in Alberta Schools. Please have a conversation with your student to ensure that they understand the rules and expectations from Alberta Education as well as F.E. Osborne School. Please see the FAQ - Student Personal Device Policy if you have any questions.
Have a wonderful week ahead,
Dr. Michael Cutler
Principal | F.E. Osborne School

FEO | Student Personal Device Policy
The Government of Alberta has established standards to be implemented as of September 1, 2024, to ensure personal mobile devices and social media do not disrupt learning. The new standards establish restrictions, enforcement procedures, and exceptions for Alberta schools. The Calgary Board of Education’s (CBE) Student Personal Mobile Device Policy is implemented in alignment with Alberta Education’s Standards for the Use of Personal Mobile Devices and Social Media in Schools.

CALGARY TRANSIT | Student Expectations & Safety
There are different Calgary Transit fares and passes options and purchasing locations. Students must carry proof of fare every time they use Calgary Transit.
Calgary Transit is committed to safety and has an extensive network of security features including cameras on buses and help phones at LRT stations and platforms for assistance. There are cameras at all CTrain stations that are monitored by security staff that are in direct contact with peace officers and can dispatch them quickly or call other emergency responders. Transit peace officers are also available to quickly respond to any incidents.
Calgary Transit provides riders with three options to report safety or security concerns. In addition to the phone number (403-262-1000) and the help buttons/phones at bus and train stations, riders can now send a text to 74100 for assistance from transit staff.
