Dear parents and guardians of F.E. Osborne students,

It is with great pleasure that I write this introduction letter to all of you as the incoming acting principal of F.E. Osbourne School.

My leadership experience with the CBE has helped me to understand and appreciate the importance of creating an environment in which all students and staff have the opportunity to become engaged lifelong learners and to prepare for success in life, work, and future learning. I come to you with 14 years of experience as an educator. My most recent experience has been at Bishop Pinkham as Assistant Principal. Prior to this, I served as the Assistant Principal at Dr. Gladys McKelvie Egbert School and have taught as a music specialist in schools for most of my career with the CBE, across divisions 1-4.

During the next few weeks, I will be working closely with Ms. Scullion and Mr. Willoughby to ensure a smooth transition within the FEO community and for your child. As the acting FEO principal, I seek to build collaborative and positive working relationships with all staff, ensuring equity for all students, and supporting the integration of comprehensive school wellness into the learning framework for both students and staff.

My leadership style involves listening, honouring the voices of all stakeholders, and working collaboratively to ensure the best interests and needs of students are met. I value the partnership with parents and the school community and believe this relationship is at the heart of our work. I recognize the high standards parents place on their children’s education and work hard to inform and support them in their family’s journey.

I am incredibly excited to begin work at FE Osborne School, insisting that students come first, that learning is our central purpose, and that my focus is on leading the community effectively.

Sincerely,
Dr. Michael Cutler
Acting Principal
