Hello FEO Eagle Families,

This is an early FEO Week Ahead as Teachers will be engaging in professional learning over the next several days at the Calgary City Teachers Convention (CCTCA), FEO will be closed Thursday and Friday. FEO will also be closed for students as we will be observing the Family Day Holiday on Monday, February 17th. FEO will re-open on Tuesday, February 18th to students.

The FEO School Council dance is tonight at 6:30 and I hope to see you there! I would like to express my gratitude to Lisa Haines and the FEO School Council for their tireless efforts to host this dance. It is a great opportunity for our school community to celebrate our students and FEO!

Rehearsals are underway for the upcoming production of "Fearsome Pirate Frank" and both boys and girls volleyball continues next week after the break, please check the calendar for dates and details!

I wish you a happy and safe long weekend. Stay warm!

FEO | Black History Month

Black History Month, celebrated every February, offers an opportunity to recognize the diversity and achievements of Black Canadians, while also reflecting on the country's painful history and the ongoing challenges Black Canadians face, including systemic barriers, racism, and discrimination. At FEO, student voice is central to how students and staff see, feel, and learn about Black history in our schools and beyond.

FEO | Pink Shirt Day

In response to a new Grade 9 student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt, two Nova Scotia high school students took a stand against bullying by distributing pink shirts to all the boys in their school to wear. This act of kindness has grown into a symbol against bullying in schools across the globe.

On Wednesday, Feb. 26, wear a pink shirt to help spread kindness and a sense of belonging!

Promoting inclusion is something that occurs in our schools every day. Check out some of the information and resources available!
