Hello FEO Eagle Families!
We are officially past the half way mark of the school year and into semester two. This is a wonderful time for students to reflect on their success of the past semester and make goals in their areas for growth. I was privileged to join a number of our FEO students who attended the CBE Well-Being Symposium and a theme that emerged was:
"Continious improvement is better than delayed perfection" - Mark Twain
With that in mind, I look forward to seeing the growth amongst our student in the second semester. Our Volleyball teams will be carrying our resounding victorious over Branton in the games this week. Check the school calender for times and locations!
A big congratulations to our Concert and Jazz Bands who played beautifully at this past weeks Winter Concert. A special shout-out to Ms. Therrien and Mr. Cavalleri for the countless hours they put in supporting the music program at FEO.
The FEO School council dance is coming up soon! Don't forget to mark your calendars.

PINK SHIRT DAY | February 26, 2025
In response to a new Grade 9 student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt, two Nova Scotia high school students took a stand against bullying by distributing pink shirts to all the boys in their school to wear. This act of kindness has grown into a symbol against bullying in schools across the globe.
On Wednesday, Feb. 26, wear a pink shirt to help spread kindness and a sense of belonging!
PROVINCIAL ACHIEVEMENT TEST | PATS
In May and June of this year, Grade 6 and 9 students across the province will participate in the Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs). Grade 9 students will complete PATs in Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
For the 2024/25 school year, the Grade 6 PAT in Science and the French Immersion Language Arts and Literature (FILAL) will not be administered. However, the Grade 6 Social Studies PAT will continue to be offered, aligning with the current Grade 6 Social Studies curriculum. The Grade 6 Mathematics and English Language Arts and Literature (ELAL) PATs will be administered, reflecting the new curriculum.
Results from these tests will provide Alberta Education, school administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, students and the public with information about what students know and can do in relation to provincial standards at the end of Grade 6 and 9.
Provincial Achievement Tests are based on what students have been learning throughout the school year, so they will be marked by teachers before they are returned to Alberta Education in June.
School staff share preliminary results with parents after the PAT administration. Individual Student Profiles (ISPs) are available to schools in the fall of the following school year. School staff then share the ISPs with parents or parents can access results directly using myPass. A record of the ISP will be retained electronically in the student record. This profile is prepared by Alberta Education after the marking and scoring of tests has been completed and the final scores are calculated; it will present your child’s performance on each test in relation to provincial standards.
Parents/Guardians are invited to our October School Council Meeting to discuss the results at that time.
