Hello FEO Eagle Families,
We have a very exciting week ahead of us! The drama team has been rehearsing for months to present "The Fearsome Pirate Frank." We are excited to announce that opening night will be April 30th and a second show on May 1st! It was been wonderful to watch these young student actors embrace their roles and contribute to an incredible production! We Invite everyone to come and see "The Fearsome Pirate Frank!"
We also bid farewell to many of our Grade 8/9 students in the Disney Concert Band as they depart for California this coming Friday! We wish them the best of luck in their performances at the Forum Music Festival and Disneyland Theme Park.
It is hard to believe that we are at the end of April already! Please pay special attention to your email inbox in the coming weeks as FEO teachers communicate Provincial Achievement Test (PAT) news!
Have a wonderful weekend,
-Dr. Michael Cutler
Fearsome Pirate Frank | April 30 & May 1
The pirate craze isn’t just a modern phenomenon, it dates back to Shakespearean times, according to two witty narrators in this snappy comedy. As the story goes, the star of a popular pirate play — The Fearsome Pirate Frank — is the teenage heartthrob of every girl in Shakespearean England, even though he can’t remember his lines for the life of him! However, when the actor playing Frank and his supporting cast, including prima donna Esmerelda, get kidnapped by real pirates during one of their productions, it’s good-bye stardom, hello servitude on a real pirate ship! The narrators and a stream of hilarious sign-carriers keep the show moving as we see the pirate actors swabbing the decks under the orders of the real pirate Frank, who happens to be a woman. But pirate actors are not the only ones hijacked in this comic romp... so is the plot from a particular popular pirate flick! In a chilling flashback sequence, the tale of how Captain Frank received the ’Blackmark” comes alive as we see her send her crooked captain to walk the plank. Nightmare sailors, zombie pirates and hypnotizing mermaids fill this zany spoof with pop culture — even Spiderman makes an appearance!
Disney Tour Meeting | April 28, 2025 @ 6:30
With the ever changing landscape in the United States we require one last parent meeting prior to leaving for our Disney band trip. We recognize this is last minute, and apologize for the inconvenience, but we have received important updates that must be shared prior to our departure.
The meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 28, at 6:30pm in the FEO Learning Commons.
At this meeting we will be joined by Education Director for Offsite Garry Tink, Director for Risk, Safety, and Security Chris White, and Area 1 Education Director Aubrey Fletcher. They will review the new information and answer questions you may have.
We require new Acknowledgment of Risk forms to be signed as these will outline current risks/precautions regarding increased security measures at the US border. These new forms will be available at the parent meeting and will need to be returned that evening, or by Wednesday April 30th at the latest or your student will not be able to attend the trip. We will also provide an information sheet outlining key changes that can kept for your records.
School Council Meeting | May 13 @ 6:30 PM
Please come participate in these very important conversations and have your voice heard. The next meeting is May 13th at 6:30 PM (Meeting link for MS Teams will be sent to families the morning of the meeting). We really hope to see you there!
Results from the Grade 9 Heritage Park Farewell Survey will be discussed!
