Hello FEO Eagle Families,

This coming February 26th is Pink Shirt Day, a day we renew our collective stand against bullying. I encourage all students and members of the community to wear pink and show your support to this important cause!

Our FEO Parent Teacher conferences on February 27-28 will not be impacted be the CUPE 40 work action. The school will be open on the 27th for in person conferences and the 28th will continue as online conferences via MS Teams. I would like to express my gratitude to the FEO School Council for providing dinner for our teachers on the evening of the 27th.

During the CUPE strike, FEO will remain open and learning will continue as planned; school hours and classes remain unchanged. I am committed to ensuring FEO remain a place where students, staff and families feel valued, supported and safe. However, a strike will have an impact on schools and operations. Volleyball, Disney Concert band and drama productions will continue as scheduled however, attendance to athletics will now be limited to parents/guardians and siblings. Please visit the CBE website for labour updates and information.

FEO | Pink Shirt Day

In response to a new Grade 9 student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt, two Nova Scotia high school students took a stand against bullying by distributing pink shirts to all the boys in their school to wear. This act of kindness has grown into a symbol against bullying in schools across the globe.

On Wednesday, Feb. 26, wear a pink shirt to help spread kindness and a sense of belonging!

Promoting inclusion is something that occurs in our schools every day. Check out some of the information and resources available!

2024-25 Alberta Education Assurance Survey Open Online Feb. 18 – March 21.

Every school year, Alberta Education surveys students, parents, and teachers to get feedback on schools. This helps us understand what’s working well and identify areas for improvement.

The Alberta Education Assurance Survey (AEAS) asks students in Grades 4, 7, and 10, along with their parents, to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in school.

Don’t miss this chance to have your voice heard! The AEAS is open from Feb. 18 to March 21, 2025.

Survey Details

Completing the survey is easy. Families will receive a unique, single-use access code to access the survey.

If you have multiple children in the relevant survey grades, you will receive a separate code for each child.

Once you have your access code, simply visit the AEAS page to complete the online survey confidentially.

Students are surveyed during the same time frame as their parents or guardians, but they typically fill out their surveys at school.

More Information

Further details are available in the Parent Notification Letter.

If you have any questions or would like a paper copy of the survey, please contact the principal of your child’s school after Feb. 18.

By participating in the AEAS, you are helping to shape the future of education in Alberta.
