FEO Farmers Market & Fine Arts Gala | December 11-12, 2024
The Farmers Market will take place on the evenings of the Gala—Wednesday, Dec. 11th, and Thursday, Dec. 12th—starting at 6:00 PM. The market is a cash-only event, with proceeds supporting Education Matters.
Students have created a variety of items for sale, including:
- Candles, lip balms, body butters, oil cleansers, body scrubs, bath bombs, perfumes, and lip glosses
- Wood products, Christmas decorations, and handcrafted designs from the Design Studies students
It’s going to be an epic showcase of their creativity!
The play will begin at 7:00 PM, featuring a talent act followed by our one-act production, Welcome to Candy Kingdom. This heartfelt play explores the journey of finding a place to call home.
To support the Farmers Market, we plan to extend the intermission slightly. Since this is our first year combining the Gala with the market, we’re excited to see how it all comes together!
Tickets:
- $10 for adults
- $5 for students
- Free for children 5 and under
Tickets will be available at the door and for purchase in the drama room during the week of the play. We can’t wait to see everyone there!
2025/2026 School Calendar
The 2025-2026 school calendar has been finalized and posted.
The first day of school for students is:
- Tuesday, Sep. 2, 2025
Feedback regarding students starting prior to September long weekend was taken into consideration for the 2025-2026 school year. In years where labour day falls later into September, such as it does for 2026 (Sep. 7) starting after the long weekend may not be possible; instructional calendars take into consideration Fall break, the timing of January diploma exams set by Alberta Education, and the balance of instructional days between semesters. School Development Plan
Alberta Education requires each school to create a plan to improve student learning. The School Development Plan (SDP) aligns individual school goals with the identified goals in CBE Education Plan | 2024 - 2027. Each year, schools capture evidence of continuous improvement towards the goals set. In accordance with Alberta Education’s Requirements for School Authority Planning and Results Reporting, schools then provide assurance to school communities by communicating student growth and achievement in an annual report that demonstrates improvement results and next steps. These results support continuous improvement of the quality and effectiveness of education programs provided to students while also improving student learning and achievement. You can read our SDP here.
eSports
As part of our school goal to increase students sense of belonging at FEO, I am very excited to announce that eSports are coming! Mr. Hauf will be running an eSports club that will utilize the Nintendo Switch Platform. This is a CBE approved club and will be focused on two games; Super Smash Brothers Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. More information will be coming soon!
