We are incredibly excited that our Girls & Boys Volleyball teams will be competing this evening for the City Championship at Sir Winston Churchill High School! Good luck to all our incredible student athletes!
We are about to enter our final week before Spring Break! As we prepare for this break, here are a few minutes to help prepare the school for the closure:
Please encourage your students to bring home any remaining food or other items such as gym clothing from their lockers.
Google Classrooms will be updated before the break for any students wishing to complete any outstanding work.
F.E. Osborne Parent Association Casino Fundraiser

When/Where: Wednesday, April 10 and Thursday, April 11 at Ace Casinos Airport (40 Aero Cres NE)
As you may know, F.E. Osborne PA can host a casino about once every 2 years. This fundraiser typically generates around $60,000 for the school. All students at FEO will benefit from the funds raised through this event.
No experience is necessary to volunteer! If you have never worked a casino shift before, be assured that you will be adequately trained and supervised on the day. It is a lot of fun; you will meet other parents from the school, and you will feel happy in the knowledge that each volunteer shift has generated $1,500+ in funds for FEO.

Parent Teacher Conferences
On March 21st and 22nd, we will be holding our semester two Parent Teacher Conferences to give you and your child(ren) an opportunity to speak with teachers about their progress. Over the past two years we have learned that many families value online meetings and that some prefer meeting face to face so this year we are offering a blended model for these conferences. The schedule for these conferences will be as follows:
In person conferences will be held on Thursday, March 21st from 3:30pm - 8:00pm
Online conferences will be held on Friday, March 22nd from 8:00am – 12:00pm (*Please specify on the booking that it is an online meeting).

CBE 50th Anniversary for French Immersion
This spring will be an exciting time for French Immersion across the CBE, as it will be the 50th anniversary of French Immersion programming in the Calgary Board of Education! Our grade 7's will join other grade 7 CBE Immersion students for a celebration on March 20th. What an honor to be part of such a strong tradition and special programming in Calgary. Fun fact: CBE is home to the largest French Immersion programming west of Quebec.
FEO French Week
We are excited to celebrate our yearly French week next week! All FEO students will be participating in events like our Bonhomme Parade, Caban à Sucre and performances and other events celebrating the French language and culture.
Away for the Day
FEO School is an “Away for the Day” school; We believe that having phones and/or mobile devices put away in lockers is best practice. Science supports an “Away for the Day” policy. When students do not have the freedom of accessing their phones during school hours, they are more engaged socially and academically. Eighth grade students who are heavy users of social media have a 27% higher risk of depression than students who exceed the average time playing sports or hanging out with friends.
