Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation

In recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day, and in alignment with the CBE Education Plan, F.E. Osborne School acknowledges and supports the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s (TRC) Calls to Action and makes the following commitment to action for the 2024-2025 school year: Educate teachers on how to integrate Indigenous knowledges, languages, and teaching methods into classrooms (focus on professional learning and planning). As a learning community, we commit to create Indigenous spaces where students and staff can engage in spiritual and sacred ways of being, belonging, doing and knowing. We will also commit to Identifying places across curriculum where Indigenous ways of being, belonging, doing and knowing can be weaved in and then design learning tasks. In making our commitment, Call to Action (#62.2) offered inspiration.
